Blending In Like a Guest

The key to capturing candid moments is allowing them to happen organically. Rather than staging every shot, I take a more unobtrusive approach—blending into the background like a guest. This way, I can photograph you and your loved ones in a way that feels natural and real, without disrupting the flow of the day.

I’ve had couples tell me after their wedding, “I don’t even remember you taking that shot!”—and that’s the best compliment I could ask for. It means I was able to capture something truly genuine.

Observing the Small, Intimate Moments

While the grand moments—the first kiss, the first dance—are always beautiful, some of the most powerful images happen in the quiet in-between.

A groom taking a deep breath moments before seeing his bride.

The way your hands instinctively find each other throughout the day.

These little moments, often unnoticed, are the ones that truly make your wedding unique.

Encouraging Interaction Instead of Posing

Rather than stiff, overly posed photos, I love giving gentle direction that encourages movement and interaction. Instead of telling you to “smile at the camera,” I might ask you to whisper something funny in your partner’s ear, walk hand-in-hand, or close your eyes and take a deep breath together.

This approach creates natural expressions and real emotions, leading to images that feel effortless and true to you.

Capturing the Energy of the Day

A wedding is a whirlwind of emotions—joy, laughter, excitement, nostalgia. I focus on capturing the energy of the day, from the belly laughs during the toasts to the wild dance floor moves at the reception. These moments are just as much a part of your story as the romantic ones.

There’s something magical about an unscripted moment—the way a bride laughs as she twirls in her dress, the stolen glances between newlyweds, or the tears welling up in a father’s eyes as he gives his daughter away. These are the moments that define a wedding day, and they are exactly what I live to capture.

As a wedding photographer, my passion has always been more than just taking beautiful images; it’s about telling a story. That’s why I’ve embraced a more documentary-style approach—one that focuses on authenticity, emotion, and the beauty of the unplanned.

Building Trust Before the Big Day

One of the best ways to ensure relaxed, natural photos on your wedding day is by getting to know each other beforehand. That’s why I highly encourage engagement sessions. This session is not only a chance for you to get comfortable in front of the camera, but it also allows me to understand your unique dynamic as a couple—how you interact, what makes you laugh, and how you naturally show affection.

When we build this connection beforehand, you’ll feel more at ease on your wedding day, allowing me to document moments that feel true to who you are.

Why You’ll Treasure These Moments Forever

When your wedding day is over, the flowers will fade, the dress will be stored away, and the decorations will be packed up. But your photos will last forever. They will bring you back to how it all felt—the emotions, the love, the magic of the day.

This is why I do what I do.

Because years from now, when you flip through your album with your partner, or when you show your children the story of how it all began, it won’t be the perfect poses you cherish most. It will be the laughter, the stolen glances, the tears of joy—the candid moments that made your wedding day uniquely yours.

Why Candid Moments Matter

While traditional posed portraits have their place, it’s the in-between moments that truly bring your wedding album to life. These are the moments that can’t be forced—the real, raw, and emotional connections that reflect the essence of your love story.

When you look back at your wedding photos years from now, you won’t just see how you looked; you’ll remember how you felt. That’s the power of candid photography.

My Approach to Capturing Authentic Moments

After nearly a decade of photographing weddings, I’ve learned that the best way to capture these moments is to create an atmosphere where couples feel completely at ease. Here’s how I do it:
